My Services

One-on-one therapy is such a powerful medium for change. Making change in our own lives can be incredibly challenging due to our habits, mental health needs, family and work expectations and responsibilities. It's important to understand these things as well as learn effective, proven strategies to make real progress towards our goals.

Families are systems with their own cultures, rules and experiences. Often milestones and other life situations such as loss, trauma, individual mental health needs, and family conflict can throw families off-balance and the unit needs a tune-up. Family therapy can heal relationships and create a thriving safe-haven that can sustain and encourage its members.
One form of family therapy I am trained in is Child-Parent Psychotherapy. This is a very effective model specifically designed for caregivers and their children ages birth to 6 who have experienced trauma. In this model, caregiver and child meet together with me as we use play to build the parent/child relationship, support and train the caregiver, and provide a safe place for the child to express their needs and experiences.
Sometimes child caregivers are overlooked in therapy with children. I strongly believe that caregiver involvement in treatment will lead to more effective and lasting results for kids. When working individually with kids I can provide regular caregiver contact in person or by phone, as well as family sessions as needed. Caregivers have the powerful opportunity to model mental health management and making positive life changes for their children.
In addition, sometimes caregivers need personal support, too. I can provide treatment for caregivers with their own mental health needs, including new parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, grandparents, and any caregivers currently looking for a way to meet their own needs as well as improve their ability to care for the beloved children in their lives.
Walk & Talk
Being in nature, moving the body and connecting with another person are a powerful combination for healing. I find my specialties of anxiety, trauma, and High Sensitivity are well-suited to this approach and that mindfulness and healing can sometimes be more easily accessible when walking and talking.
These sessions are a good fit for people who feel a kinship with nature, want to feel more connected to their body and mind, and need emotional and mental support as they work through life’s challenges.
Openings are available June through October for adult clients. Walking paths include select trails and parks in the Weymouth area. Walk and talk sessions may not be covered by insurance.
